KCRAR and the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) are partnering for a Board of Mayors event featuring four local mayors. Happening at 10 a.m. on Aug. 21 in the KCRAR Leawood classroom, the panel will include:
- Carolyn Caiharr, mayor of Edwardsville, Kansas
- Eric Mikkelson, mayor of Prairie Village, Kansas
- Kathy Rose, mayor of Riverside, Missouri
- Rory Rowland, mayor of Independence, Missouri
The mayors will speak to housing and real estate issues that affect REALTORS® and homeowners. Caiharr, who is also a REALTOR®, believes elected officials and real estate professionals can work together for the betterment of the community.
“Elected officials and real estate professionals are in the business of serving others,” Caiharr said. “Elected officials should be working toward building a community in which their residents can thrive. Real estate professionals help their clients buy and sell homes in these great communities throughout the KC Metro area, one of the most impactful investments they will ever make. Both roles help our neighbors in achieving their part of the American dream.”
WCR crafted this event with KCRAR to keep real estate professionals informed and influential on the housing issues and decisions that start on the local level.
“Not much affects a person’s life more than their home and community,” Caiharr said. “Being informed on upcoming projects and policies can help real estate professionals be aware of issues that will impact the communities in which their clients are making one of the largest investments of their life.”
Real estate professionals from across the region are welcome to attend this no-cost event in-person or via Zoom. Seats to the in-person event are very limited and filling fast, so advanced registration is required.
