As a part of its goal to nurture emerging leaders in the real estate industry, the KCRAR Young Professionals Network Committee, with the support of the KCRAR Board of Directors, is establishing a new scholarship program to support YPN members seeking to enhance their careers through attending the UMKC REALTOR® Leadership Academy.
The academy is a seven-month real estate business course from the UMKC Henry W. Bloch School of Management in collaboration with KCRAR. Its lessons on industry context, regional leadership and practice management have proven valuable for past graduates in various stages of their careers, from emerging agents to tenured brokers. The YPN Committee wanted to support those newer agents who show a promising future in the real estate industry but may not yet have the resources to invest the full tuition to attend the academy.
“While we love a casual networking mixer, YPN is about much more than that,” said Michele DuPont, Chair of the KCRAR YPN Committee. “At its core, YPN is about leadership development and empowering our members to continuously grow in their careers. I think the establishment of this scholarship is a great investment in the professional development of our industry’s future leaders.”
The YPN Committee will distribute two $1,000 scholarships to members of the KCRAR Young Professionals Network based on criteria including their goals for attending the academy, YPN involvement and financial need. After graduation from the academy, scholarship recipients would be asked to serve on a KCRAR Committee or Advisory Group to continue their leadership growth.
Applications are now open for the scholarships to the 2026-2027 UMKC REALTOR® Leadership Academy term, which will begin in September. YPN Scholarship applications close July 12.
