2017 in Review

March 22, 2018 in Guest Columns

2017 was a year of growth
for KCRAR and HMLS. We grew in numbers, surpassing
10,000 members. We grew geographically,
adding 9 counties through our merger with the St. Joseph Regional Association
of REALTORS®. We grew in innovation, introducing a new and more
efficient member portal, implementing a consumer
multimedia advertising campaign, launching our member news
site – ResourceKC.com
and
offering brand new education opportunities including the UMKC REALTOR®
Leadership Academy.

With all these changes,
however, certain favorite traditions continued as well.
We held our second annual Rock the Block volunteer event, where
our members revitalized 20 houses in Kansas City. We continued to host YPN
events throughout the year, where our members came together for fun and
networking. And of course, our members continued to sell homes like crazy.

Now that the year is over, I am certain
that 2018 will prove just as eventful and that KCRAR and HMLS will continue to
grow as an organization, constantly working to help improve the lives of our
members. Together, we will continue to make Kansas City a national model for
best practices in the real estate industry.

We can look back with great pride on
everything the organization and its members have accomplished. My special
thanks to 2017 President Jeff Hill, the KCRAR and HMLS Boards of Directors, our
members and my incredible staff for all their hard work and dedication. We can
also look forward with confidence that innovation and enhanced member services
will continue into the year ahead.
