The KCRAR Young Professionals Network (YPN/KC) held its annual fundraiser benefitting Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City on Wednesday at Tin Roof, bringing in $3,062 for housing in the community.
Nine acts took the stage for the cause, each featuring a REALTOR® or Industry Partner, and the audience voted for their favorite acts via dollars donated to the cause. At the end of the night, the votes were tallied, and Beth Borders and Cortney Myers, with ReeceNichols Country Club Plaza, took home the trophy for their duet performance of “Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again” made famous by Judy Garland & Barbra Streisand.
“I chose to participate in the Habitat for Humanity fundraiser because it’s important for REALTORS® to be involved in contributing to safe, affordable housing,” Myers said. “We both love Judy and Barbara, so it was a lot of fun to pay tribute to them while supporting a great cause.”
Other competitors included:
- Sirenna Beyer, ReeceNichols Country Club Plaza, and Amanda Edmonds
- Nathan Corsi, ReeceNichols Country Club Plaza
- Matthew Emerick, Home Warranty Inc, and Kayla Harrelson Smith
- Alex Goering, ReeceNichols Overland Park
- Michael McReynolds, HomeSmart Legacy, and Blair Baucom, Chartwell Realty
- Tracy K. Searles, ReeceNichols Country Club Plaza
- Theresa Smithart, Better Homes & Gardens Kansas City Homes
- Scott Theis, Stutesman’s Action Realty
Each of these acts brought in additional funds for Habitat KC with their talents, from vocal performances, to musical acts, to hula hoop dancing. These funds will support Habitat KC’s vision of “a world where everyone has a decent place to live.” KCRAR members have another chance to support Habitat KC on Sept. 17 at the annual REALTORS® Rock the Block event.
YPN/KC’s REALTORS® Got Talent event was made possible thanks to the sponsorship of Pete’s Pest Control.
