President Mall: The REALTOR® Resilience

As I look back at last year and forward to the year ahead, I’m reminded of the resiliency of REALTORS®. After a tumultuous 2024, we’ve found ourselves on the other side, and I believe we’re better real estate professionals for it. We can look toward the year ahead knowing we’re set up for success simply by the fact that we’ve learned and grown through a year of challenges.

I encourage you to take a moment of reflection, not only to take pride in the obstacles you’ve tackled in the last year, but also to ask yourself why. Why did you decide to face those obstacles head on when you could have just thrown in the towel? If you’re anything like me, it’s because you know there’s more to this profession than just buying and selling homes.

Being a REALTOR® is not only about the crucial role we serve in the lives of our clients and in the economy, but it is also about our own smaller community of fellow real estate professionals. I believe our organization is very unique, for an industry of any kind. Not only do we cooperate on a day-to-day basis as practitioners of our trade, but we also come together year after year to work towards a better future for our clients and for our profession. Just like we did in 2024. When I go to KCRAR events, the colleagues that fill the room also feel like good friends, and it’s because of that unique sense of the REALTOR® community.

This year, move forward with pride, not only of yourself, but of the profession you represent. REALTORS® are a group of dedicated individuals resolved to serve their community, neighbors and clients in the most responsible, effective and ethical way possible.

I’m proud not only to be a member of this dedicated group of professionals, but also to serve it as your 2025 KCRAR President. Wishing you all a prosperous year.
