Nine Teams Raising Funds for Habitat KC Through KCRAR Upcycle Challenge

April 15, 2021 in KCRAR

KCRAR launched its second Upcycle Challenge last month, and the competing teams will be auctioning their flipped items beginning Monday, April 19. This year, nine teams shopped Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City’s Martin City ReStore to find an item or items to flip into something new or enhanced. They’ve been working on their projects for several weeks and the finished products will be revealed on KCRAR’s Facebook page in the coming days.

The team with the most points based on factors including most votes received in KCRAR’s public vote and most money raised in the online auction will be this year’s winner. In addition, an award for Biggest Transformation will be selected by the KCRAR Events and Outreach Advisory Group. Not only will all the money raised through the auction be donated to Habitat KC, but a $500 donation will also be made in the name of the winning team.

Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City helps families in Kansas City and the surrounding areas build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. All the money earned through sales at its four ReStore locations help fund that mission.

This year’s Upcycle teams are:

  • Better Homes and Gardens Kansas City Homes (BHG) Mission Farms
  • BHG Northland
  • BHG Overland Park
  • First American Title
  • Gunselman & Achosa Home Warranty
  • Keys Realty Group
  • Realty Executives of Kansas City
  • Reece Nichols
  • Wardell & Holmes Real Estate

Voting and bidding will be open from April 19-30. Check KCRAR’s Facebook page for updates.
