By Jeff Carson, KCRAR Director of Advocacy
KCRAR is proud to announce a major expansion and restructuring of our political advocacy division. This is an exciting step forward that will empower REALTORS® to have a stronger, more unified voice in local housing and infrastructure policy across the Kansas City region.
REALTOR® advocacy is one of the single largest benefits KCRAR provides to our members, so KCRAR has contracted with a highly regarded local lobbying firm, StateLine Strategies, as well as a professional political research and issues-tracking team, AEG Policy Advisors, to strengthen this benefit even more. AEG Policy Advisors will monitor city council agendas, planning and zoning commissions, and other municipal bodies throughout our region to help KCRAR to stay ahead of key housing-related issues, ensuring we can advocate swiftly and effectively on behalf of homeowners, property rights and the real estate industry. StateLine Strategies will also work closely with our staff and volunteers to produce model ordinances, research and data to assist local elected officials in all issues impacting real estate and our members.
To make this work even more impactful, the KCRAR Kansas and Missouri Advocacy Committees have officially merged into one unified KCRAR Advocacy Committee. This change was recommended by a Presidential Advisory Group appointed by KCRAR President Andrew Mall and approved by the KCRAR Board of Directors. By combining forces, KCRAR is streamlining advocacy efforts and eliminating duplication, giving us a clearer, louder voice with local decision-makers on both sides of the state line.
Whether you specialize in residential, commercial, or both, this enhanced advocacy structure is designed to support your business. Volunteers on the new KCRAR Advocacy Committee will help shape how we respond to critical issues, and we want your voice at the table.
Applications for the 2026 committee will open to all KCRAR members in the coming weeks.
