KCRAR Members Honored at State Conferences

February 1, 2024 in KCRAR

KCRAR members traveled to St. Louis, Mo. and Manhattan, Kan. in January for the Missouri REALTORS® (MR) and Kansas Association of REALTORS® (KAR) annual winter conferences.

At the MR conference, KCRAR members Bobbi Howe and Andrea Sheridan were sworn in as MR 2024 President-Elect and Immediate Past President, respectively. Sheridan was also presented with the President’s Eagle Award for her service as 2023 MR President. KCRAR member Tony Conant was also honored at the Board of Directors meeting as MR Ambassador of the Year & People’s Choice Award recipient.

For KCRAR’s advocacy efforts in 2023, KCRAR also earned the MR President’s Cup, which Sheridan presented to KCRAR members at the conference.

Advocacy was the prime focus at the KAR conference one week later. After conference sessions in Manhattan, Kan., REALTORS® from across the state traveled together to Topeka, Kan. to visit legislators in the Capitol. While there, KCRAR members met with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, who stated that the legislature was making it easier for every Kansas family to find affordable housing. Her budget invests more than $50M to expand affordable and moderate-income housing so Kansans across the state have somewhere to call home.

While at the conference, KAR CEO Karen Gehle announced she will be retiring later this year after 29 years of service with the Association.
