KCRAR Charitable Fund Makes Donation to Iowa Disaster Relief

September 11, 2020 in KCRAR

The Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS’® Charitable Fund recently contributed $5,000 to the disaster relief efforts in Iowa. This comes after the Derecho Storm blew through central and eastern Iowa in August, causing an estimated four billion dollars in damage with hurricane-force winds.

20 Iowa counties were declared state disaster areas, and the Iowa Association of REALTORS® (IAR) has partners with the REALTORS® Relief Foundation and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to help those affected by this natural disaster. It is helping with mortgage payment assistance or rental costs to those who were displaced by the storm.

“The Derecho Storm caused devastating damage to countless Iowa residents,” KCRAR CEO Kipp Cooper said. “The help that IAR and NAR is providing to those who’ve been forced to leave their homes is so important, and we wanted to do our part to help them with that essential mission.”

Those who would like to contribute to the disaster relief efforts can donate online to the NAR Relief Foundation.
