KCRAR Announces 2022 Award Winners at Annual Holiday Party

Kansas City REALTORS® were honored this week at the KCRAR Holiday Party and Awards Event at the Loews Kansas City Hotel. REALTORS® and Industry Partners from across the Kansas City region were nominated for KCRAR Annual Awards, and five members were selected.

The 2022 Good Neighbor Community Service Award was presented to Brent Gieseke, Exit Realty Professionals, for his work with non-profit Agape Pamoja. Gieseke has devoted 2,750 hours this year renovating homes, leading volunteers and mentoring youth and more for the organization, which serves the refugee community in Kansas City.

The 2022 Industry Partner of the Year Award was presented to TJ Lorson, Heartland Title. The Industry Partner of the Year Award is given each year to a member of the real estate community who contributes to the industry in a role other than real estate agents and brokers. Lorson frequently provides support for REALTOR® events, building relationships in the local real estate industry.

The 2022 Newcomer of the Year Award was presented to Mike Cooper, RE/MAX Premier Properties. The Newcomer of the Year Award is given each year to a new salesperson who has been licensed for fewer than 18 months for outstanding accomplishments. In his first nine months of business, Cooper worked on 25 transactions totaling over $12 million in volume.

The 2022 Salesperson of the Year Award was presented to Monica Angeles, Jones Heritage REALTORS®. The Salesperson of the Year Award is given each year to a real estate agent who is actively involved in selling real estate, performing in adherence to the Code of Ethics and demonstrates a positive professional attitude in their business. In the last year, Angeles worked on 117 transactions, totaling over $27 million in volume.

The 2022 REALTOR® of the Year Award was presented to Kathy Minden, Crown Realty. The REALTOR® of the Year Award is KCRAR’s highest honor, awarded each year to a REALTOR® who exemplifies REALTOR® professionalism at a distinguished level. Minden has served as both President of KCRAR and the Kansas Association of REALTORS®. Throughout her career, she has contributed thousands of dollars to protecting homeownership rights.
