The KCRAR Young Professionals Network (YPN/KC) held its second annual REALTOR® Battle of the Bands on Wednesday at Tin Roof, bringing in $5,145 for Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City. Five bands competed for the cause, each featuring REALTORS® or Industry Partners, and the audience voted for their favorite bands via dollars donated to the cause.
Performing for the second year at REALTOR® Battle of the Bands, bluegrass band Boxcar Brethren, featuring Industry Partner Sean Ewbank, took home the trophy after bringing in over $500 in votes.
“It’s always nice to win! In my opinion, all of the bands deserved to be up there with us,” Ewbank said. “This is one of my favorite networking events of the year… We were certainly surprised to hear our names announced at the end of the night. We certainly appreciate everyone that donated in our name as well as everyone that was involved in making this event a reality.”

- Local Allstars, featuring REALTORS® John Ketchum (RE/MAX Premier Realty) and Jordan Haase (Tala Realty Co)
- StrawBilly, featuring REALTOR® Scott Hinkle (Platinum Realty)
- The Sk8er Boiz, featuring REALTOR® Christian Hidalgo (KW Diamond Partners)
The funds raised at this event will go toward this year’s REALTORS® Rock the Block event with Habitat KC, which brings together REALTORS® from across the region each year to revitalize a block of homes. This year’s Rock the Block will be taking place on Sept. 18.
