REALTORS® Serve Marlborough Homeowners at 2024 ‘Rock the Block’

Eight homeowners in the Marlborough neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri received repairs and exterior beautification to their homes earlier this week from the efforts of REALTOR® volunteers at the annual Rock the Block event with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.

“Through the Rock the Block event, local REALTORS® strive for a substantial community impact, one neighborhood at a time,” said Cindy Cunningham, KCRAR President. “We hope to create a positive long-term change for the areas served by the Rock the Block program each year, including higher property values and a general feeling of well-being and community pride for current and potential homeowners. We’re very excited to address the vital housing needs of Kansas City through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.”

Individual volunteers from across the Kansas City region as well as home adopters from Realty Executives, Worth Clark Realty, ReeceNichols — The Rob Ellerman Team, and the KCRAR Young Professionals Network performed exterior painting, landscaping, minor repairs and other tasks that contributed to the appearance and maintenance of homes in the area. These efforts play a critical role in keeping residents in their homes, preserving owner occupancy and improving the lives of both current and future residents.

One of those residents is Anita Green, who now has a new front deck, giving her a safe way to enter and exit her home. Beyond that, the deck will create a welcoming space for her to enjoy the outdoors and connect with her neighbors, fostering a sense of community right on her doorstep.
