This year is a code of ethics education year. As mandated
by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), members are required to
complete an ethics training by Dec. 31 every two years,
on even numbered years. All REALTOR® members must complete 2.5 hours of
code of ethics training by Dec. 31 of this year to continue their membership
with the Association.
“The code of ethics is an integral part of what sets the
REALTOR®
apart from anyone else selling real estate,” KCRAR President Andrea Sheridan
said. “When our consumers hire a REALTOR®, they know that comes with a high
standard. REALTORS® are a part of a larger organization that maintains specific
practices to ensure high quality professionalism, like requiring these code of
ethics trainings.”
Several options exist for members to take the training course. Members
can take their training in-person or online through KCRAR for free and receive
3 hours of CE credit. To register for a live class or online class through
KCRAR, members can go to the “Upcoming Classes” or “KCRAR Online CE Classes”
sections under the Education and Events tab in the member portal.
New members can also go online to take a KCRAR New Member Tour which includes
the ethics training requirement.
Members may also complete this training online through NAR. NAR’s online code of
ethics training has specific training options for residential, appraisal and
commercial agents. However, agents who do not take their training through KCRAR
must remember to submit their course certifications to KCRAR to satisfy their
requirement.
And, members
can always go back to see whether they have satisfied their code of ethics
training requirement by logging in to the member portal.

If I have taken a code of ethics course last year 8/14/2020, I have satisfied my requirement…correct?
