With the holidays just around the corner, YPN/KC, Women’s
Council of REALTORS® (WCR) and the St. Joseph Chapter of KCRAR have all made
efforts to give back to the community.
After the KCRAR Holiday Party in early December, YPN/KC
hosted an after-party from which all admission charges went toward Operation
Breakthrough, a local non-profit that “provides a safe, loving and educational
environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through
advocacy, emergency aid and education,” according to its website. Through this
after-party fundraiser, YPN/KC raised over $500 for Operation Breakthrough.
Kansas City WCR made a visit last week to the veterans at
Benilde Hall, which is a program that offers “housing, substance abuse
treatment, and treatment for mental illness to homeless adult men all in one
single facility,” according to its
website. WCR gave each veteran a
bag of goodies including a jacket, shirt, socks, cap, gloves and toiletries.
During the St. Joseph Chapter’s holiday party, they
collected items and monetary donations for Bartlett Center, a non-profit
organization providing educational and creative programs for children. They
also assist, train and tutor youth to help become leaders in the community. St.
Joseph Chapter members donated $375 and several items for the Bartlett Center.
In addition to holiday giving, KCRAR knows its members give
back to the community year-round. It is asking any members who would like to
share their stories to email them to [email protected].
