New association will have more than 12,000 active listings totaling more than $3.2 billion in inventory
The St. Joseph Regional Association of REALTORS®
dissolved and merged with KCRAR on Jan. 1, creating the St. Joseph Chapter of
the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®. With the merger, KCRAR welcomed
approximately 250 St. Joseph REALTOR® members to the Association.
“We have been discussing the possibility of a merger for
years. It is a true testament to both associations’ leadership in identifying
the benefits of regionalizing and making this a reality for our members,” CEO
of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS® Kipp Cooper stated.
The St. Joseph Association currently covers nine counties of
geographical area, which will expand KCRAR’s jurisdiction to 25 total counties
after the Jan. 1 merger. The
St. Joseph Multiple Listing Service will continue to operate through the first
quarter of 2018, with a full data conversion scheduled for this Spring. At that
time, St. Joseph MLS’s data will be fully integrated into the KCRAR-owned,
Heartland MLS system.
The St. Joseph
Association office at 2001 Jules St. will remain
staffed and operational throughout 2018 and members will also gain access to
expanded services and educational offerings available at the KCRAR and
Heartland MLS office in Leawood, Kan. After that time, a decision will be made
regarding an office location to serve the Northern KCRAR region. To help ensure a successful transition, the 2017 President of the St. Joseph Regional Association of REALTORS, Adam Stein, will serve in a director position for KCRAR for a two-year term.
In addition to providing access to enhanced
services, benefits and business tools for St. Joseph-area REALTORS®, KCRAR is
also dedicated to preserving the former organization’s involvement in and
support of the St. Joseph community through continued community involvement and
outreach efforts.
