CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes and Past President of KCRAR Christian Barnes was honored recently by the Kansas City Business Journal as one of their “Women Who Mean Business.” The program honors “top-ranking women in Kansas City businesses who also take an active role in the community and in helping other businesswomen succeed,” according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
“The women who have achieved this honor, both past and present, truly represent the heartbeat of Kansas City and to now be included among them is inspiring,” Barnes said. “To be afforded the opportunity to collaborate with them and soak in the wealth of knowledge this tribe of leaders offers and in turn feed that forward is a game changer for me.”
This year’s Women Who Mean Business all share a common experience in their careers: a time in their lives that caused them to make a shift. The Kansas City Business Journal’s feature article on Barnes details her career pivot from corporate media sales to real estate, where she worked her way up from agent to CEO.
Barnes not only acts as the leader of her brokerage, but she is also a leader in the real estate community on the local, state and national levels. She has served many years on the KCRAR Board of Directors, including her time as President, as well as on the Kansas Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors. She has also served on multiple committees, including for the National Association of REALTORS®.
