Late
last month, the top brokers in Kansas City commercial real estate gathered at
Tom’s Town Distillery to celebrate at the Annual KCRAR Commercial Awards
Reception. In addition to the signature cocktails and lively networking, the
brokers honored their colleagues by awarding the annual “Roger L Cohen Rookie
of the Year,” “Allen J Block Broker of the Year” and the career recognition
award, “The Benchmark” Distinguished Professional Award.
CoStar
brought the hardware to party as well, recognizing the top five Kansas City
area brokers and firms with their annual Power Broker Awards. CoStar Regional
Director Charlie Fields flew in from Denver to join the party, and he distributed
the Power Broker trophies to the winning brokers and firms. A full list of

Whitney
Kerr Jr, Cushman & Wakefield, spoke glowingly about his colleague while
awarding the 2018 Roger Cohen Rookie of the Year Award to Jack Goldsborough.
Jeff Berg with Colliers International, recalled his decision to leave the legal
profession and enter commercial real estate 25 years ago as a difficult but
rewarding career change. “The Benchmark” Distinguished Professional Award was
presented to David Zimmer, New Mark Grubb Zimmer, recognizing his career
achievements and long-standing commitment to the Kansas City brokerage
community.
