The Accredited Buyer’s
Representative (ABR®) designation is designed for real estate buyer’s agents
who focus on working directly with buyer-clients. Accredited Buyer’s
Representatives (ABR®) stand for
the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. ABR® designees earn twice as
much as agents with no designations and 95 percent of home buyers say that they
highly value agent knowledge. Not only will you earn more as an ABR® designee, you will gain:
- Valuable
real estate education that elevates your skills and knowledge in the eyes
of homebuyers. - Ongoing
specialized information, programs and updates that help you stay on top of
the issues and trends in successfully representing homebuyers. - Access to
REBAC members-only
marketing tools and resources, which provide an additional
competitive edge.
The path towards becoming an
ABR® begins by taking the ABR® Designation Course. After you complete
this course, you will automatically become a member of REBAC for one year—free!
Here are all the requirements for completing the ABR® designation:
- Successful
completion of the two-day Accredited Buyer’s
Representative (ABR®) Designation Course. After completing this course, you’ll have
three (3) years in which to complete the other ABR® designation
requirements. - Successful
completion of one of the ABR® elective courses, including
an 80 percent passing grade on the exam. This course may be taken prior to
completing the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation
Course. - Documentation
verifying five (5) completed transactions in which you acted solely as a
buyer’s representative. Any transactions closed prior to taking the
Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) Designation Course or closed within
three years after completing the Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®)
Designation Course are eligible for credit. - Maintain
active and good membership status in the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council
(REBAC) and the National Association of REALTORS®.
