Around 400 REALTORS® and Industry Partners gathered this week at the Loews Kansas City Hotel to witness the installation of 2025 KCRAR President Andrew Mall and Heartland MLS President John Ketchum, as well as the announcement of the 2024 KCRAR award winners.
The 2024 Good Neighbor Community Service Award was presented to Brandi Palmer, ReeceNichols Leawood Town Center, for her charitable efforts with nonprofit “Bra Couture KC” for over 10 years. She has served the organization as a contributor and a runway model, helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer patients.
The 2024 Industry Partner of the Year Award was presented to Kayla Harrelson, Continental Title Company. Harrelson has served as a member of both the KCRAR Young Professionals Network Committee and the KCRAR Events & Outreach Advisory Group every year since joining the Association. She supports the Association and its members through volunteering, sponsorship and more.
The 2024 Newcomer of the Year Award was presented to Becky Mullies, Dream Properties Real Estate. Shortly after earning her real estate license, Mullies began volunteering on the KCRAR Young Professionals Network. In her short time in this industry, Mullies has shown a dedication to professional development, cooperation and community service.
The 2024 Salesperson of the Year Award was presented to Sherrie Rickel, KC Realtors LLC. Rickel demonstrates outstanding Association involvement, ethics and cooperation, community service, continuing education and salesmanship. She has served on multiple KCRAR committees and shows a passion for educating consumers on the benefits of homeownership.
The 2024 REALTOR® of the Year Award was presented to Jessica Thomas, Realty ONE Group Esteem. The REALTOR® of the Year Award is KCRAR’s highest honor, awarded to a REALTOR® who exemplifies professionalism at a distinguished level. Thomas served as the 2024 Chair of the KCRAR Forms Committee, leading the local real estate industry through this year’s many critical changes to forms and contracts. She also serves as a Heartland MLS Director and is an RPAC Major Investor.
Also at the event, 2024 KCRAR President Cindy Cunningham and Heartland MLS President Amy Voltz thanked the 2024 Boards of Directors before Voltz “passed the gavel” on to Ketchum as 2025 President of Heartland MLS. Then, Mall was officially installed as the 2025 President of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®.
Ahead of the KCRAR Holiday Party & Awards event, the KCRAR Young Professionals Network held a “pre-party” at the Bar Stilwell benefitting Lead to Read KC. The pre-party brought in dozens of guests, raising a total of $640 to promote literacy among grade school students in the Kansas City region.
