REALTORS® from across the city drove to KCRAR’s Leawood
office last Friday to dispose of their unneeded files at this year’s annual
Shred Day. With the help of the Events and Community Outreach Advisory Group and
sponsorships from ProShred, Certified Radon and First American Home Warranty,
over 350 boxes of old files were able to be safely shredded and recycled.
Each box for shredding brought in at least a $5 donation to
Habitat for Humanity, and in total, the event raised nearly $2,100. All those
funds will go toward this year’s annual REALTORS® Rock the Block event in
partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City.
With all the paper shredded this year, not only were
members’ confidential files disposed of safely, but 14,400 pounds of paper was
recycled, saving 122 mature trees from destruction.
