On
Wednesday night the top brokers in Kansas City Commercial real estate gathered
at Tom’s Town Distillery to celebrate at the Annual KCRAR Commercial Awards
Reception. In addition to the signature cocktails and lively networking, the
brokers honored their colleagues by awarding the annual “Roger L Cohen Rookie
of the Year,” the “Allen J Block Broker of the Year,” and the first ever career
recognition award, “The Benchmark” Distinguished Professional Award.
Ryan
Companies sponsored the event, with Aaron Schlagel kicking off the presentation
with stories from his involvement in the development of the Tom’s Town historic
space.
Ken
Block, SIOR, CCIM, Managing Principal at Block Real Estate Services, spoke admiringly
about Roger Cohen and Allen Block and their impact on so many of Kansas City’s
brokers today as he presented the Rookie of the Year award to Andrew Block, and
the Broker of the Year to Brent Roberts, CCIM, both of BRES. Mike Klamm, CCIM, Managing Director at CBRE, presented
the inaugural Benchmark Award to David Hinchman, SIOR, who is also celebrating
his 40th year in Commercial brokerage, all of it with CBRE.
Additionally,
Scott Wayne, Senior Account Manager with CoStar, rolled out the annual CoStar
Power Broker awards at the event, recognizing the top 2017 Kansas City Brokers
