2027 KCRAR Committee Volunteer Application

The Public Policy Committee monitors and tracks legislation and regulatory issues affecting the real estate industry at the local level. Utilizing a combination of dedicated volunteers and professional staff, the committee works to protect and promote private property rights and the interests of REALTORS®. Volunteers play a key role by attending public meetings, tracking policy developments, and, when needed, offering testimony or advocating on behalf of the industry. Committee members should be prepared to engage with elected officials, monitor government agendas, and represent the REALTOR® voice in public policy discussions. Meetings are held monthly or as needed, based on legislative activity.

Description: Ensure the financial stability of KCRAR through regular review of the financial status and investments of the Association. Make recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters that affect the Association financially. Must have served on a KCRAR Committee to be eligible. ***MUST SUBMIT RESUME including experience in financial matters or planning to be considered for this appointment (***Email resumes to MikeS@KCRAR.com). Meets up to 12 times a year.

KCRAR Volunteers are leaders of the Association and as such are examples to all KCRAR Members who abide by the Code of Ethics and represent all Members equally and fairly. KCRAR Volunteers are expected to follow the KCRAR Social Media Policy representing the REALTOR organization in the best light possible for other REALTOR members and the public.
