2022 KCRAR Committee Volunteer Application

KCRAR is looking for individuals who have the time, talent, and commitment to devote to program development and special projects. If you have interest in serving on a KCRAR Committee or Advisory Group, please complete all sections of the form and submit by October 29th to be considered for an appointment for 2022. (Please note: 2021 committee appointments are not carried over to 2022. To be considered for reappointment in 2022 please complete the application form below.)   • SECTION 2 - COMMITTEE/ADVISORY GROUP OVERVIEW

    PLEASE INDICATE YOUR INTEREST IN SERVING ON A KCRAR COMMITTEE OR ADVISORY GROUP IN SECTION 3 BELOW. THE FOLLOWING IS A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF EACH KCRAR COMMITTEE AND ADVISORY GROUP.
  • ADVOCACY COMMITTEE (KANSAS OR MISSOURI)

    Description: Study proposed legislation and develop legislative policy. Make recommendations regarding proposed legislation affecting the real estate industry at the local, state and national level. Monitor agendas of the governing bodies of surrounding communities to identify issues of interest. Meets monthly or less often if necessary.
  • CONSUMER ENGAGEMENT ADVISORY GROUP

    Description: Provide input on KCRAR's Consumer Engagement Initiatives including the multi-media consumer advertising campaign, media relations messaging and other consumer-focused resources. Meets 1-3 times annually.
  • DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION COMMITTEE

    Description: Identify issues affecting local minority communities and develop Association response. Encourage KCRAR members to learn about diversity. Develop strategic relations, partnerships and coalitions with local organizations. Meets 6-10 times annually.
  • EVENTS & OUTREACH ADVISORY GROUP

    Description:Assist in the planning process of the annual KCRAR community outreach programs and annual events. Assist in promoting and advertising upcoming events, and providing input on current and potential KCRAR events. Members are expected to attend KCRAR events and/or volunteer at each event. Meets 4-6 times annually and/or communicates by email as needed.
  • FINANCE COMMITEE

    Description: Insure the financial stability of KCRAR through regular review of the financial status and investments of the Association. Make recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters that affect the Association financially. Must have served on a KCRAR Committee to be eligible. ***MUST SUBMIT RESUME including experience in financial matters or planning to be considered for this appointment (***E-Mail resumes to MikeS@KCRAR.com). Meets 2-3 times annually.
  • GLOBAL BUSINESS COUNCIL

    Description: The KCRAR Global Business Council will pursue global relationships and opportunities for the purpose of attracting businesses and investment in the Kansas City Region. Meets 3-5 times annually.
  • GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE

    Description: Review ethics complaints and arbitration requests. Make recommendations on whether to dismiss cases or forward to Professional Standards hearing. This committee does not conduct hearings or investigations. ATTENDANCE AT ANNUAL 3-HOUR ASSOCIATION-SPONSORED TRAINING CLASS REQUIRED. Three-year commitment. Meets monthly or less often if necessary.
  • MEMBER ENGAGEMENT ADVISORY GROUP

    Description: Help plan and execute member outreach initiatives to increase effectiveness of member communication. Provide input on KCRAR Communication vehicles (including website, newsletters, social media etc.). Meets 1-3 times annually.
  • MISSOURI STATE ASSOCIATION DIRECTOR

    Description: KCRAR is allocated a certain number of positions to serve as State Directors from KCRAR for the Missouri Association of REALTORS. Open to members of the Missouri Association of REALTORS who are interested in serving on state committees and attending 3 multi-day state association meetings throughout the year (January, April, and September).
  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

    Description: Assist in planning, marketing and executing programs and training for members to increase professionalism and knowledge. Responsible for reviewing education programs and provide input on future programs. Meets 6-8 times annually.
  • REALTOR PARTY ADVISORY GROUP

    Description: Plan and implement RPAC fundraising strategies and promote member involvement in advocacy initiatives. Meets 6-8 times annually.
  • RESIDENTIAL FORMS COMMITTEE

    Description: Review and revise KCRAR Standard Forms. Assist in the creation of new forms, as needed and to consider suggestions for the revision of existing forms. Meets 8-10 times annually.
  • YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK (YPN)

    Description: Assist in the planning process of the annual KCRAR community outreach programs and annual events. Assist in promoting and advertising upcoming events, and providing input on current and potential KCRAR events. Members are expected to attend KCRAR events and/or volunteer at each event. Meets 4-6 times annually and/or communicates by email as needed.
  • SECTION 4 - SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • SECTION 5 - KCRAR COMMITTEE PROCESS (FYI)

    • SEPTEMBER 1: Volunteer application forms available • OCTOBER 25: Deadline to submit volunteer application forms • EARLY-DECEMBER: Committee appointments are finalized with Committee Chairs • MID-DECEMBER: Proposed Committee rosters reviewed by President • LATE-DECEMBER: Notification of committee appointments sent out to volunteers
  • SECTION 6 - KCRAR SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

    KCRAR Volunteers are leaders of the Association and as such are examples to all KCRAR Members who abide by the Code of Ethics and represent all Members equally and fairly. KCRAR Volunteers are expected to follow the KCRAR Social Media Policy representing the REALTOR organization in the best light possible for other Realtor Members and the public.
