Requirement for Code of Ethics Training
This is not a requirement for renewing your license like a mandatory/core class. It is, however, mandated by the National Association of REALTORS® so you may continue as a KCRAR member!
Code of Ethics training must be completed by December 31 every 2 years (even-numbered years, i.e. 2018, 2020, etc.) to maintain your REALTOR® membership. COE is not required by the state licensing commission and is not a license renewal requirement. These are two different entities.
Ways to Complete the COE Training Requirement
Best Option - Free NAR online ethics class: Click COE Online. (You will need your NRDS number.) For a video tour, click COE Video Tour. While there is no CE credit for this, it’s fast, free and satisfies the COE requirement.
Take an online class for CE credit from our partner, CE Cheap (the online school for Career Education systems). Note: These online CE classes are free as a KCRAR member benefit. You must log in at KCRAR and proceed to Online CE Classes. CE Cheap will notify KCRAR and the Missouri and Kansas Real Estate Commissions when you have completed the COE course.
Take “Behave Yourself Mandatory Code of Ethics” class at KCRAR for elective CE credit or take "Code of Ethics (Non-CE)" class at KCRAR. To register for one of these classes, Log in to the KCRAR Member Portal here. You will find "Upcoming Classes" under Education & Events.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you take the COE training at any other school besides KCRAR/CE Cheap or the NAR online course, you must submit confirmation of completion to KCRAR. To do this you may e-mail it to Education@KCRAR.com or mail a copy of your certificate of completion to KCRAR - Attention: Angie Sherman, 11150 Overbrook Rd., Leawood, KS 66211.
