Kathryn Clark, ReeceNichols Alliance

Why do you wish to serve as a Director of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®? Being a board member will be an opportunity to give back to the organization that is passionate about and supports our industry. I feel my experience as a salesperson and broker in this market, outlying markets throughout Kansas & Missouri, as well as other states will benefit the Board of Directors. Being a board member will allow me to collaborate with others who possess a broad sphere of roles and experience. Our united effort will assure the direction of the organization aligns with our strategic plan.

What do you see as the primary purpose of this Association? To develop and promote education and services that enhance the members' ability to conduct their business successfully with integrity and competency, and to promote real property ownership and the preservation of real property rights.

What goals and objectives would you like to see pursued by this Association over the next three years? Continue to work toward completing the 2017-2019 strategic plan and identify any items that need further clarification. Education is so important, continue to expand and promote Professional Development. Identify potential detractors to our profession that affect both the REALTOR® and consumer experience.

Amy Goddard, ReeceNichols Ide Capital

Why do you wish to serve as a Director of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®? I believe KCRAR needs leaders of service on its Board of Directors. I am no stranger to service, during my 11 year real estate career I have served in many capacities such as a current MO Realtor Director, current HMLS Director, past SJRAR Director, and served on several committees such as Governing Documents, Membership Outreach, and Strategic Planning. I also enjoy serving my community as a Past President of Junior League and a recent graduate of the United Way Leadership Program. I have helped facilitate Strategic Plans for SJRAR as well as non-profit organizations. I am forward thinking and I know I can bring experience to the KCRAR Board and also bridge the gap between KC and the surrounding areas that also belong to KCRAR. I would love the chance to serve KCRAR as its next At-Large Director and continue on our path of success.

What do you see as the primary purpose of this Association? I believe the purpose of KCRAR and its BOD is to provide a professional standard to our REALTOR® members and maintain that standard by upholding our current rules and regulations, but also being proactive enough to modify them to today’s practices when necessary. We must also be able to provide our Members with the best possible tools and support to stay leaders and experts in our field.

What goals and objectives would you like to see pursued by this Association over the next three years? I believe our Association should continue to secure the livelihood of our REALTOR® Members by putting us on the cutting edge of available technology, tools and trends. I also believe education is key in our industry, this is true for new and veteran agents. We must keep everyone educated on new trends but not forget the fundamentals of our service. Lastly, we need to support the communities that we serve with continued community outreach projects, giving the REALTOR® brand a lasting impact on our cities and our clients.

Why do you wish to serve as a Director of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®As real estate agents there is not other profession like ours, we are truly the only ones that understand on the same level what it is like to be a real estate agents. We are each others competition and comrades at the same time. I want to be there for my colleagues and listen to what they believe our association needs. I would like to address the issue of FSBO companies allowed to be on our MLS not providing any level of service to their clients.

What do you see as the primary purpose of this Association? Protecting and bettering our industry and property rights for the future generations through our legislative efforts, community involvement, and attention to professionalism in our industry.

What goals and objectives would you like to see pursued by this Association over the next three years? Providing relevant programs to our members and making sure the programs we are providing to members give them the value they deserve, that they are able to be utilized easily, and being used by our members. Also by making the association more accessible to our members by having more training and events in other areas of the KC metro area.

Stephen W. Smith, Re/Max Revolution

Why do you wish to serve as a Director of the Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS®? My desire to run for Director centers around two major reasons. The first is I have been a practicing member of the board for 22 years and I feel I desire to give back to a board that has helped me in myriad ways. As a long time real estate professional practicing in a Kansas City I feel I have a vast array of experience working within our governed boundaries. The experience that has been gained needs to be contributed back so that our board can continue to serves its members, the people, and continue to deepen its commitments to the ethics, standards and practices found in our Code. The second reason is to have significance on the future directive of our board. I believe the board should represent the landscape of the Association at large and the perspective of those who feel the same about certain issues. A healthy dose of variety is good for everyone and. Most importantly, serves the long time interest of our membership.

What do you see as the primary purpose of this Association? I see the primary function of our Association is to govern our membership through the enforcement of our Code of Ethics, design and potentially enter into ventures, programs, etc. that make the members of the Association’s lives easier, and to maintain a strong financial constitution to ensure its future viability as an organization.

What goals and objectives would you like to see pursued by this Association over the next three years? The goals and objectives I would like to see pursued over the next three years are to stay in front of our changing technological landscape and take measures to ensure the agent is still a major aspect of the industry of real estate. I would like to see how we can strengthen the adherence by our Association to see our own Code of Ethics and basic mode of operation by our membership. We currently have too many people who have not been brought up to speed on how we treat one another as an industry.
